IDE and Compatibility
The Keil µVision2 IDE is the first compiler to directly support the µPSD. All C Code generated from ST’s µPSD Development Software, PSDsoft Express, is directly compatible with the Keil PK51 and DK51 tool kits. The Keil PK51 includes the ISD51 non-intrusive background debugger, which uses one of the two UARTs on the µPSD for firmware debugging with breakpoint support. For future µPSD devices, Keil will continue to support the dual-data pointers of the µPSD to allow for efficient code development JTAG debugging is also supported.
The Keil ISD51 In-System Debugger
The ISD51 (In-System Debugger) is a new debug monitor from Keil Software for 8051 user programs. ISD51 consists of a configurable library that you link to your user programs to provide support for program testing via the 8051 on-chip UART.
The software and hardware requirements of ISD51 are minimal. It can run from external or on-chip CODE space and does not require special hardware.

Keil Software announces support for the ST-Microelectronics PSD3200 8051 microcontroller.
Dallas, TX: The µPSD3200 family of 8032 based microcontrollers is STMicroelectronics’ first foray into world of 8051 microcontrollers. The new 8051 family features a 40MHz 8-bit microcontroller with a 8032 microcontroller core surrounded by dual banks of Flash memory, SRAM, programmable logic, I/O, and a wide variety of peripherals. With Flash and SRAM densities of up to 288 Kbytes and 32 Kbytes, respectively, the µPSD3200 8051 family offers the largest Flash and SRAM densities available today in an 8051-class microcontroller, and the only one to include on-chip programmable logic.
