Microchip has bought a company that makes WiFi and Bluetooth products. Anyone else see where this is leading?
Microchip has just acquired module maker Roving Networks for an unspecified amount of money.
Roving Networks makes WiFi and Bluetooth modules that draw every little current. This is in harmony with Microchip's focus on low power products.
Microchip will soon have the ability to seamlessly integrate low power WiFi and Bluetooth solutions into their microcontrollers.
The Roving Networks team, led by Mike Conrad, will continue to operate out of their Los Gatos office.
