MIPS Technologies, a leading provider of industry-standard processor architectures, and Cirrus Logic, a leading semiconductor supplier of solutions for digital entertainment electronics, announced today that Cirrus has licensed MIPS Technologies’ 32-bit processor cores, including the MIPS32™ 4KEc™, 4KEm™, 4KEp™ and M4K™ cores. Cirrus is active in the development of DVD players, receivers and recorders, personal video recorders (PVRs) and audio/video receivers (AVRs).
